“Be Fruitful and Multiply”
Over the past weeks I have been praying for the upcoming year and wondering what 2021 is going to look like. Looking back at 2020 I was wondering how things could get any crazier. I believe 2021 is going be even a little crazier :) I hope I am wrong, For some this coming year may be absolutely amazing and others it may be devastating. I believe as followers of Jesus we will be called to walk alongside the lost and hurting. Over the last two weeks in prayer multiple days in a row I kept hearing this phrase “The calm before the Storm.” I can’t say I know exactly what that means but I have some thoughts. I will tell you the contrast between light and darkness is going to continue to become greater and greater as days progress. As in Isaiah 60: 1-3 the prophet writes,
Arise, shine;
For your light has come!
And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
And deep darkness the people;
But the Lord will arise over you,
And His glory will be seen upon you.
The Gentiles shall come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your rising. - Isaiah 60:1-3
If you go on to read the whole chapter you will notice that in a time of darkness the Glory of God rises upon his people. The greatest crisis moments create the greatest need and opportunity for believer’s who live in faith to rise up. God’s people will shine bright in days ahead. People are always drawn to the light and the light ALWAYS destroys the darkness. There has never been a greater opportunity or timeframe to be alive and shine bright for Jesus Christ. In the coming days I pray believers will rise up and pastors will stand strong in a culture that is fading away from the ways of God. I pray that great revival comes upon the land and great reformation comes upon the government as well. I pray for the saving of our nation. Some hate our country, I personally love it! I pray and believe that America will return to God one more time. I pray Revival comes through reformation but possibly could be persecution persecution. I pray we as people of faith stand strong for Jesus Christ in the days ahead. I also pray we do not shy away from the truth regardless of how hard that may be in the days to come. The times are changing and I believe we are about to see a new testament model of Christianity rise up. A Christianity that walks in power, a Christianity sees the sick and oppressed set free, and a Christianity that calls many back into repentance and a true saving faith in Jesus Christ.
We started gathering in our home back in April and saw the Lord do so many amazing things over the last year. Spiritually 2020 was the greatest year of our life. You can read back through my last article and read about that experience. It has been absolutely incredible and I believe things are about to go up another notch after the new year Looking forward to the coming year I really sense the Lord drawing believer’s to focus on their homes. I had one word come to mind for 2021 and that word was multiply. All throughout the bible God calls his people to multiply. From Genesis, God said to his people “Be Fruitful and increase in number, fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” - Genesis 1:28 In the new testament God commissions his disciples to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” - Mark 16:15. Our houses can become hubs for Revival in the days to come if we use them as a place to be fruitful and multiply and fulfill that great commission Jesus commissions his disciples to fulfill. Over the last 14 years some of the greatest times of discipleship and life transformation have been through inviting people into our homes and seeing lives transformed through the gospel of Jesus Christ. People open up, share their struggles and build relationships that many times last for years to come. If you allow the Holy Spirit to lead these times you will see people spiritually come alive and find their place in the body of Christ. Home gatherings do not replace the local church but are a great addition to go alongside and build of the body of Christ. In Acts 20:20 the Apostle Paul preached house to house and publicly. Most of the churches Paul launched were small and set up in a matter of weeks and began in homes all across Rome. They were living in days of great persecution. You can see why as we enter into tougher days how they may mirror new testament times. This model spread the gospel faster than any model ever tried. Person to person and house to house. I believe small bodies of believer’s, 10 -50 people are going to rise up all over this nation in the coming decade. Look no further than China. No matter how hard they try to shut down the church, it has spread underground and people are added daily to the underground church daily in China. Millions and millions of persecuted believers in the nation of China. The church is China is alive and well and growing faster than we can imagine and its all underground. I pray we keep our freedoms in America and never reach this point but this may end up the the path forward to Revival in America. I also believe in the days to come more people will work from home, more kids will be homeschooled and more and more people will begin to gather in homes. Homes will be a focal point in the future days. The best way to start is just begin. Gather with family, friends, pray, seek the Lord while you open the scriptures. The word is alive, active and sharper than a double edged sword. Believe that as you pray and read the scriptures you will begin to walk in the power the early churched walked in. That is the hope for the people of God in the days to come!
The Truth is like a lion; you don’t have to defend it. Let it loose; it will defend itself!
The harvest is coming….
Then he left the crowd and went into the house. His disciples came to him and said, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.” He answered, “The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the people of the kingdom. The weeds are the people of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels. - Matthew 13:36-39
