Train up a Child.....
"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6
Raising Children that will turn into great adults. I believe this is the key to bring great change to the nation and the world we live in. We need to start with our kids and turn them into adults that will add value to the family, community, and country they are part of. Everything great starts in your own home. Revival begins in your home.
I believe the future of children is set in motion by the training we give them at a young age. Think about it this way. When a person gets to age 25 and they have money problems, most likely they were never taught how to manage money at a young age. When kids grow up and they do not attend church or continue to walk out the christian faith is is most likely because parents didn't spend the time training them up while they were young and setting the example for them to follow. I believe it is our generations job to put a intentional focus on this and win a generation back to Jesus Christ
I by no means have this all figured out as I fall short every day, but what I do know is I can give it my best run and do my best to raise kids who become great adults. They say that after the age of six a child is programmed and they are in route to be the person they are going to be. So the young years are so important to get them trained up and ready to take on the world. As I am noticing this takes time and discipline and intentional effort with children.
Our first goal as parents with our kids is to teach them to seek first the kingdom of God in their life. I think if they learn to rely on the Lord and accept Jesus Christ into their life many other things will come fall into place. For our kids we read devotions at night before bed. We make this a nightly routine with our kids. Now they are in the habit of spending that time reading their devotions, going over a verse and closing the night with prayer. Ill be honest their our nights when I am busy but Max is so programmed now at 8 years old that he comes to me to do his devotions. Some nights I really don't feel like it, but I always put down what I am doing because I know this is the most important time of his whole day. A couple great devotionals we have done with the kids I will put below. They have great simplicity and also give a message that the kids can relate too.
