Fields of Faith - Northwestern College - October 2021
Wednesday Night in Orange City we hosted our Fields of Faith gathering. It was an amazing night as we worshipped the Lord in a packed auditorium. We had a floor full of first time faith commitments to Jesus Christ. There is nothing more exciting than seeing this next generation come to Christ. It is the solution to the problems we are facing in this nation today. We are in the days where we are seeing God's church rise up from slumber. We have some exciting days ahead! This is the evidence people are hungry to hear the good news about Jesus Christ.
I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance. Luke 15:7
Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest." Matthew 9:35-38
History
An Inspired Start
In 2002, Oklahoma Fellowship of Christian Athletes Area Director, Jeff Martin, prayed about what to do with his heartfelt frustration regarding the temptations and spiritual battles facing our more “spectator generation” youth. God led him to 2 Chronicles 34 for the answer. King Josiah, an influential teenager, gathered his people and challenged them to read God’s Word. As a result, they changed their culture.
Going National
In 2004, The Josiah-influenced dream came true when more than 6,000 students gathered on school athletic fields throughout Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas for Fields of Faith. Through the student led events, more than 100 students made decisions for Christ. Since that day hundreds of thousands of people have attended Fields of Faith and thousands have accepted Christ.
Fields of Faith - Northwestern College
Dr. Micah Parker from Northwestern College kicked off the night and introduced Adam Timmerman. We had a full night of worship, testimonies, preaching and more. The night ended with well over 100 people coming forth, many in tears to receive Jesus Christ. What a night! We look forward to this coming year discipling people through FCA huddles, encouraging them to plug into their local churches and continue this new relationship with Jesus Christ.
The worship team kicked the night off and also ended the night as many new people came to faith. FCA has developed a great follow-up system. We have a text response and also encourage new believers to get plugged into there bibles, a local church, FCA huddles for discipleship and school chapels if offered. The key after a commitment to follow Christ is ongoing discipleship. We prayed for the most powerful night of evangelism we have ever seen. It was a special night and the Holy Spirit brought many to salvation. We are grateful and amazed by the goodness of God and for what he continues to do in our day.
